Messages

People Manager allows you to send a message to all employees, these will be shown on an employee's dashboard and can be emailed to all as well. You can also apply a rule to a message, allowing you to restrict to the message goes to. Go to rules for further information.

Click on admin in your top menu bar and within the system section click on messages. 

You will see any messages that have already been created, you can search for existing messages or click new, to create a new message. 

Creating a new message

The new panel will appear on the righthand side. 

Enter a title for the message and select the date timeframe you want the message to appear for. You also have the option to email this to all employees as well. 

Within the message text box, type the message you want to display.

You have the option to upload a document that employees can open from their dashboard. There is a rename field allowing you to add a pop up message when the employee hovers over the attachment, this could be the name of the document or an instruction. 

Click save when you are ready.

The message will appear on dashboards as below. When an employee hovers over the attachment the text box will display if you have added text. They can click on the attachment to open. 

Messages for a group of people

You can create a message for a group of people using rules that you have set up. Speak to support if you do not have this function.

You will still have the option to choose email or just use dashboard messaging. 

You will see a rules dropdown option and all rules that you have selected will be available for you to choose. If you wish to keep/change the message to everybody set the rule to all people. 

Using an existing message

You can use an exist message in the system, simply find the message and click on it. The panel will open to the righthand side, allowing you to change the dates, change the attachment and rewrite the message. You will also have the ability to delete the message as well if it is no longer needed at all.
