Role Management
Role management allows you to manage the default user roles for each user type. Through role management, you can assign access rights and permissions across up to nine different role levels for administrators, ltdcouser, consultants, managers, and workers. Subsequently, each user can be assigned to one of these specified role levels.
Setting specific user roles against a user type
To set specific user roles against a user type using role management, do the following:
Navigate to role management in the system section under the system configuration cog.
Role managementSelect the role template from the template dropdown and click choose. You can select from nine different role levels for administrators, ltdcouser, consultants, managers, and workers.
The default or existing settings for the role template appears.
You can update the role name, if needed. Note that, the role name is shared between role template and role management. Changing the role name in one page will update the other.
Select, or deselect the role options (create, write, write all, read, read all, delete, adv read, adv write or switch) to set access or functionality rights against each main role listed on the left-hand side. You can set some additional roles, such as timesheet, expense, and agency. For more information about available user roles, refer to changing user roles.
Click Save. You can apply roles of a template to all existing users of the same role level using the apply to all users button. When you change the roles and click on apply to all users, it will update all profiles with the same role. For example, if you make any changes to the manager.role1 template, and click apply to all users; all managers with manager.role1 role will inherit the changes automatically.
