Payroll periods enhancement

The Admin → Payroll → Payroll Periods screen has had three new fields added and the layout improved to accommodate them.

The three new fields are:

  • Absence Cut-Off Date - specifies absence pay will be paid up to, and including, this date.

  • Expenses Cut-Off Date – applies if you are using the Expenses module and specifies that only expenses approved up to, and including, this date will be paid.

  • Timesheet Cut-Off Date - applies if you are using the timesheet module and specifies that only timesheets up to, and including, this date will be processed.

The Starter Cut-Off Date (formerly 'Cut-Off Date') ensures that only employees who start on, or before, this date are included in the payroll.

For full information on payroll periods, please refer to Payroll periods

AVC added to pension scheme

You are now able to check whether you have an AVC (Additional Voluntary Contribution) pension scheme via the Admin → Pension → Pension Scheme screen.

PEOP-1388.png

Employees with an AVC scheme have two pension entries, one for their normal scheme, and a second for their AVC scheme. AVC schemes are designated by the AVC checkbox.

The type of scheme determines the fields displayed on the Employees → Pay → Pension screen. For normal schemes, the four fields Employer Percentage, Employee Percentage, Employer Fixed Amount and Employee Fixed Amount are available. For AVC schemes, the two fields AVC Percentage and AVC Fixed Amount are available.

If RSM are processing your UK payroll, they will set up the pension configuration for you, including AVC if this is required.

Home screen - holiday section added

A new Remaining Team Holiday section has been added to the Home screen which allows managers to easily see their team’s Remaining Holiday, Booked Holiday and Taken Holiday. This can be particularly useful towards the end of the holiday year when there is outstanding holiday remaining.

In the above example, Finn has not taken or booked any holiday, and has 18 days remaining.

Ben has booked a small amount of holiday, which he hasn’t yet taken, and has 20.5 days remaining.

Billy has used most of his holiday and has 1 day remaining which he has booked.

If you have employees with different holiday start dates, as in this example, you will see one section for each holiday year.

Week indicator added to work plans

Work plans can be created for multiple weeks (when an employee’s hours vary from week-to-week) by clicking the add a week button on the Admin → Absence → Administer Work Plans screen.

PEOP-1383.png

In this example, the employee works a total of 10 hours (08:00 - 19:00) on Tuesday in week 1, but 11 hours (07:00 - 19:00) on Tuesday in week 2.

For employees whose work plans span multiple weeks, it can be difficult determining the hours they work a particular week. To help, a Current Week indicator has been added to the Employees → Absence → Work Plan screen.

Please ensure that the current work plan is selected.

Improved calendar filtering for admins

Admin users now have the ability to either view everyone in the calendar (using the Show everyone filter) or just those people reporting to them (using the My reporting line filter).

To access the calendar, click View Calendar at the top of the screen.

PEOP-1283b.png

Alternatively, select employees, right-click the relevant folder on the left, and select absence.

PEOP-1436b.png

They are also available on the Home screen when raising a new request.
