There may be circumstances where you would like to automatically apply a shift (rate) to a timesheet on any day which has been worked. One example of this may be if you are required to pay a worker in hours but charge the client in days which this used as the scenario below.
1. From the menu bar, select Profiles > Placements. Search for the placement you’d like to apply the filter to and click on Edit to open the profile.
2. On the General tab, add the rate you would like the worker to use for recording their worked hours or days. In this scenario we have created a Standard Pay rate with the pay value being the worker’s hourly pay amount and no charge value. Select ‘Time and Hours’ or ‘Hours Only’ from the Field dropdown and ensure Worker Can Select is ticked.
3. Add another rate which will be the rate you would like to be applied automatically to any day which has been worked. In this scenario we have created a Standard Charge rate. This rate would have the daily charge rate to the client but have no pay value and select ‘Decimal’ under the Field dropdown. Ensure Worker Can Select is not ticked.
4. Go to the Advanced Tab and click on the + icon to the right of Filters.
5. From the Name dropdown, select Daily Rate Filter.
6. Set up the filter fields as per below:
Field Name | Description/Purpose |
---|---|
Applicable When | This field is not mandatory but will help other users to understand the parameters and purpose of the filter. |
Original Rate Name | This would be the rate which is selectable by worker and to be used for recording hours/days worked, you must enter the rate name exactly as it appears on the Main tab. |
Daily Rate Name | This would be the rate not selectable by worker which is to be automatically added to any days worked, you must enter the rate name exactly as it appears on the Main tab. |
Once complete, save the placement profile. This filter will result in the worker being able to enter days or hours worked as normal and upon submission of the timesheet for approval, the daily rate will be automatically applied to any date where a shift has been entered against it.
