If this feature is enabled rates can be setup so that they become effective (Active) at a certain date. This also allows you to change the pay or charge amount of a particular rate over time. please contact InTime support if you require this feature. If this feature is not enabled all rates that exist on the placement are always effective.

Rates are identified by a unique name. With this feature there can be a number of rates shown on the placement that have the same name, these are treated as one rate that changes over time based on each Effective From date.

A rate is effective until it is superseded by another rate of the same name with a more recent Effective From date.

A rate is effective:

  • If the Effective From date is empty and there are no other rates with the same name
  • If the Effective From date is empty and all other rates with the same name have an Effective From date in the future
  • If the Effective From date is in the past and all other rates with the same name have an Effective From date in the future

On the Edit Placement page Rates are automatically grouped by name and ordered by the Effective From date.

When entering a timesheet only the effective rate for each day will be available and the pay charge rate of that rate will be used. If a new rate becomes effective within the timesheet period there may be more than one rate of the same name with different pay/charge rates on the timesheet.

Effective rates can be managed through the InTime Web Services from version 25 onwards.

Effective rates can be managed with Bullhorn Integrations by using the dateEffective or dateClientEffective fields on the Bullhorn Placement. Please contact InTime support if you wish to use effective Rates with Bullhorn integration.
