You will shortly notice a change to your InTime system regarding password management.  Some Administrators and Consultants have previously had access to the Get Passwords menu.  This has now been replaced with the ability impersonate the user (see screenshot below).  Providing you have the Get Passwords role, when viewing a worker/manager you will see a Switch To User action in the top corner of the worker page as shown below

When you click on this link you will be logged in as if you were that particular user.  You will notice that the menu bar now contains an entry Exit User.  When you click this you will be returned to your original login

FAQ's

Question - How do administrators login as a manager and authorize timesheets on their behalf?

Answer - You can no longer retrieve manager passwords as enhanced password security has been applied to InTime.
If you are wanting to switch to a manager to approve timesheets where a password is required to authorise, admins can no longer retrieve.
The process should be as follows:

If an Admin needs to approve a timesheet on behalf of a manager they should change the approval route on the Placement to be an 'Administrator approval' type route or 'Auto Approval' then resubmit the timesheet. Then an admin can approve the timesheet. If the manager does normally do the authorisation you should then change the approval route back to what it was previously.

If it is normal process for admins to do the approvals on a placement an 'Admin approval' route should be selected anyway.

If for some reason it is essential that the password for an account is acquired it can be reset.
You will need to change the email address of the account in question to one that you have access to and get the username.
Then click on the 'Forgotten password' link on the login page and submit the form.
A link is then sent allowing you to reset the password to a new value.

The above process will mean the audit trail will be accurate.

UPDATE: As at 8th January 2016 - If you are wanting to switch to a manager to approve timesheets where a password is required to authorise - we have now removed the need to enter a password to authorise when impersonating.

An audit will be retained of which Administrators are impersonating logging actions taken.
